In Mozambique, the national Energy for All project will receive a US$280 million boost through the assistance of co-operation partners.

This is according to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ludovina Bernardo, who added that this year 400 000 households will, for the first time, be linked to the electricity grid.

Launched in 2018, the project aims to double the number of households with access to electricity to 64% by 2024, with universal access by 2030. Initially it was estimated that the 2030 target would require Mozambique to mobilise around US$6 billion.
