Ready for action Investors in Egypt will soon be able to keep the local stock exchange in their pockets. As part of its integrated transformation programme, the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) has launched its own mobile app, reports ITWeb Africa. The EGX app is designed to ‘strengthen transparency and expand communication channels within the capital market’, says the bourse. Launched as a pilot programme, the app will offer access to market news, data on listed securities, index summaries and highlights of market movements. Users of the pilot version can also provide feedback through the EGX dialogue platform. The EGX is not the first bourse on the continent to have launched an app; the exchanges in Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana and Mauritius have all launched mobile platforms. 26 August 2025 Image: Unsplash
