    According to stats published by the Code for South Africa Data Journalism Academy, close to 47 000 highly skilled South Africans have recently relocated to OECD nations in search of employment opportunities.

    The UK is the most popular destination, having taken in more than 18 500 skilled South Africans, followed by Australia with 13 000 and Canada with just under 7 600.

    As reported by Business Tech, around 11 000 of the South African emigrants are teachers, 3 000 are general managers and almost 3 660 are life science and health professionals.
