Centre for learning Namibia is advancing its workforce’s digital skills with the launch of a refurbished technology hub in the Oshana region in the north. According to IT Web, the US$2 million Ondangwa Technology Hub is designed to accelerate transformation, research and skills development. Originally established in 1983 by Rössing Uranium, the upgraded technology hub was inaugurated by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah this month. The Rössing Foundation helped to fund the renovations. ‘The country’s prosperity depends on its ability to empower young people with the skills, tools and opportunities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world,’ the president said at the inauguration. China’s Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology also donated 73 interactive science models designed to explain complex scientific concepts and enhance learning. 30 June 2026 Image: Unsplash
