A new shopping mall is coming to Cape Town.

The 22 000 m2 centre, which is expected to cost ZAR600 million, will be part of the GrandWest casino complex in Goodwood, Cape Town. Construction is expected to start in January 2026, with completion set for 2027, reports Moneyweb.

The GrandWest mall will be two-thirds owned by Sandton-based Flanagan & Gerard, while Sun International will own the balance, according to Flanagan & Gerard MD Paul Gerard.

It will be a community-focused centre with around 60 stores and outlets, including two supermarket anchors and two pharmacies in addition to fashion, athleisure, services, health and beauty, banking and new restaurant offerings,’ he said.

GrandWest Casino and Western Cape regional director Mervyn Naidoo said the old exhibition area of the casino complex will be demolished to make way for the new mall, which will also take up part of the casino’s parking area.

The mall, which will be connected directly to the casino, will offer late-night shopping.
