Pay1st enables customers across the continent to pay for content in their preferred way. It will also focus on to developing, licensing and publishing new games.

According to Business Insider, this latest round of funding follows a successful partnership between Carry1st and free-to-play shooter game Call of Duty: Mobile in South Africa during 2022. The company also celebrated its first game from its CrazyHubs gaming accelerator to become the top downloaded game in the US during the same year.

To facilitate its Pay1st solution, the company partnered with Riot Games to pilot local payments for its games in Africa.

The funding was led by global investment platform BITKRAFT Ventures.
